Boris Missirkov (1971, Sofia) / Georgi Bogdanov (1971, Varna)

Photographers and cinematographers, co-founders of the Bulgarian Photographic Association and founders of the producers studio AGITPROP. After a period of work as freelance photographers for leading Bulgarian and international publications and advertising agencies, they focus mainly on cinema and author’s visual works. Since 2000, they have been independent producers and authors/directors of photography of numerous full-length documentaries, experimental videos, and visual campaigns. Curators of a number of photographic exhibitions by contemporary Bulgarian authors.

Their photographic compositions are diverse in style and can be characterized by the term “staging documentary”. Their works are presented in solo and group exhibitions of photography and contemporary art in Europe and the United States. Their photographs are property of the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; the Museum of Photographic Art in Odense, Denmark; the National Art Gallery, Sofia; the Sofia City Art Gallery; the French National Library, (Bibliothèque nationale de France) Paris; the collections of Erste Bank, Austria; Banca Unicredito, Italy; and the European Parliament, as well as of private galleries and collections around the world.
