Yasena Popova

Yasena Popova was born in Svishtov, Bulgaria, in 1981. She graduated in Architecture from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, Sofia, in 2006 and Art of Photography from New Bulgarian University in 2013. Yasena was nominated for the Essl Art Award (2011). In 2015 she won the Gaudenz B. Ruf Award for contemporary art and for the participation in International Gyeonggi Ansan Art Fair, South Korea. In 2016 she took part in the European festival for photography Circulation(s) in Paris, France. Her photographs are property of the collections of the Sofia City Art Gallery and private collections. She works and lives in Sofia.
