Stanimir Genov

Stanimir Genov (1982) is from Sofia, Bulgaria. He graduated from the Department of Painting at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia. In the period 2007–2012, he was primarily interested in installation, video and sound. In 2012, following a solo exhibition ‘Paintings’, Stanimir returned to painting as his main medium. So far, his work has been presented in numerous solo shows in Bulgaria, including ‘Excuse Me’ (2008), ‘Clear!’ (2011), ‘Outside’ (2014) and ‘Exhibition’ (2015). In addition, Stanimir has participated in a number of group exhibitions, most recently in ‘My Name Is Artist’ (Herentals, 2014), ‘Process in Progress’ (Vienna, 2015) and ‘Caution: Wet Paint!’ (Sofia, 2015). His works can be found in various private and public collections, such as the ones of the Sofia City Art Gallery, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, the Hugo Voeten Art Center, etc.
