Ivo Bistrichki
Ivo Bistrichki was born in 1971 in Blagoevgrad. He lives and works in Sofia and Burgas. In 1995, he graduated in painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts from the St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Turnovo. Since 2008 he has been a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists (UBA’s), since 2009 he has joined the Office of the Painting Section and in 2016 he was voted into membership of the UBA’s Board of Directors.
He works and experiments using various materials, media and techniques – painting, digital printing, collage, objects. His works fall into the extreme areas of the conventional painting. Typical of his works is the deconstruction of images and “injuring” of picture surface. The subjects treated by the author are related to the effect of modern world on personality. In this context, objects of life, portraits, and large-scale space situations appear.
