Nedko Zhechev was born in Varna in 1976. He left the city at the age of 13 in order to study graphics in Sofia. In 2004 he graduates in “Scenography for puppet theater”, at the NATFA “Krastyo Sarafov” in Sofia. “Format de voyage”, his master degree, was a small street theater which intervened in the city landscape. It tours with it in Europe, Japan and Canada. In 2006, he wins the second prize in the national contest for young artists with his cynetical objects. In 2007 he moves to Belgium, since then he lives and works in Lier, a little town in Flanders. He exhibits in a.o. Automates Gallery, Ateliers Mommen, Molenbeek Cultural Center, Het cabinet. Earlier this year he exhibited in the Cultural Center of Herentals with his new series of monoprints “Cabinet of Curiosities”.
